It is located at 2501 Bryant Street (at 23rd Street), San Francisco, CA. Million Fishes empowered artists by creating an environment in which they can create, critique, present, teach, and develop the concepts and skills involved in producing art and sharing it with others. Through presenting and making accessible the programs’ new emerging artwork and ongoing projects, Million Fishes became a resource to local communities in the Mission District and the diverse, extended communities of our resident artists. Million Fishes began its operations in November 2003 and ended operations in October 2012. ==Organization History== Founded in 2003 on the principle of co-creativity, the studios and venue served as a platform for artistic cooperation as well as an interactive resource for the public. Million Fishes grew to also suit the needs of many distinct creative endeavors, from productions and events to ongoing programs and services. Through presenting and making accessible emerging artwork from both the collective and outside artists, Million Fishes was a resource to local communities in the Mission District and the extended communities of our resident artists. Programs include innovative gallery exhibitions, an artists-in-residence program for 14 artists from international backgrounds, and classes and workshops open to the community. The collective also featured valuable resources including a dark room, wood shop, and studios for all disciplines.
